BASES -THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF ORIGAMI

A base is a folding sequence that acts as a structural skeleton from which many origami figures can be made. The bases can be considered the building blocks of origami. Here you will learn some of the classic bases, but origami creators have developed many of their own.

Becoming familiar with origami bases will help you easily remember a folding sequence, and draw relationships between different figures. Understanding traditional origami bases is an important step toward origami mastery.

The best way to learn origami is by making some figures! After you watch the video, make sure you fold some models to practice your skills. Follow the links to the origami models listed below.
