Saturday, Oxctober 24, 2026, 11:30 AM (NYC Timezone) – Live Folding Session with Leyla
Join us for a live folding session where we will make two playful models: the Candy Coffin and its sweet companion, the lollipop.
The Candy Coffin is easy to fold and aptly named. Made with black paper, it looks just like a tiny coffin, a bit of sweet black humor for Halloween or the Day of the Dead. Made with colored or patterned paper, it turns into a lovely and practical gift box for any occasion. Add a pinwheel lollipop and you have a treat that is part spooky, part sweet.
Bring your paper, a little curiosity, and your favorite candy to tuck inside. We will fold together, step by step. All skill levels welcome—bring your paper and let’s fold together!

What Materials to Bring
Paper for the Candy Coffin
- A good size to learn the model is 6 × 6 inches (15 × 15 cm).
- Bring a few extra squares to make a template for marking the folds.
- Both sides of the paper show in the finished box, so choose paper you like on both sides.
- or use black paper on both sides for coffin look.
Paper and materials for the Lollipop
- In the demonstration, the model is folded with thin kami paper, but any thin but firm paper will work.
- When folding it for the first time, use a square of at least 6 × 6 inches (15 × 15 cm).
- To use it as a decoration for a Candy Coffin made with 6 × 6-inch paper (15 × 15 cm), fold the lollipop from a 3 × 3-inch square (7.5 × 7.5 cm).
- Only one side of the paper is visible in the final model.
- While learning, use a solid-color paper so the reference points for the folds are easy to see.
- Toothpicks or thin skewers for the lollipop stick.
